Establishing a Structure
Legal practitioners, consultancy firms, wealth managers and trustee companies are able to offer advice on establishing foundations. You may already have relationships with companies able to provide this guidance, or you may wish to consult one of Philanthropy Australia’s member organisations with qualified personnel who are able to assist.
In selecting any company to help you establish a foundation, manage your investment funds or the operations of your foundation we recommend that you consider the company’s experience with charity law, investment of charitable funds, and the governance and administration of charitable trusts.
Distributing Money to Charity
Some of the consultants and wealth management firms listed on Philanthropy Australia’s Service Providers page are able to assist with expertise in grantmaking. Philanthropy Australia can also provide assistance via research services, publications, networking with experienced practitioners and workshops.
